LEGENDARY RESURRECTION – by Cam Shaft – Premium Wrapping
From 1976 till 2003 the British small series car manufacturer Lotus under the guidance of the legendary master Giorgio Giugiaro produced a middle class motor sport car named Espirit. It was in 1996 (up to 2004) that Espirit V8 became the first and only Lotus with an eight-cylinder engine. Each four cylinders on the left and on the right side are mounted at the angle of 90° and fitted into an aluminum construction; they generate from 3,506 ccm engine 354 hp (260 kW) as well as 400 Nm torque thanks to two Allied-Signal T25 turbo compressor pumps. Produced only 1,237 times worldwide, V8 had a maximal speed of 282 km/h, weighted 1,380 kg, made a speed of 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and cost in 1999 about 150,000 DM.
Almost like the honoring of a Brazilian Ayrton Senna da Silva, who drove in 1984 for the Team Toleman, from 1985 till 1987 for the Lotus-Team, and then for McLaren and Williams in Formula 1 car race and whose death at Grand Pries San Marino 1994 on the way to Imola on the 1st of May 2012 was commemorated for the 18th time, the company Cam Shaft – Premium Wrapping has taken to its heart the produced in the previous century Espirit V8 and has given it unique and adequate upgrades. One should mention here a Red Race control device with optimized characteristics due to the changes in the software. Then there were adjustable cases by Forge inside the turbo compressor pumps. A self designed compressor cooling system (on the basis of Lotus-Omega) as well as two 100-cell structure catalysts give the Espirit V8 with 492 hp (362 kW), 4.3 seconds for the speed-up of 100 km/h and a maximal speed of 305 km/h. Technically it is worth mentioning that they have changed a 5-speed gearbox by Renault for 6-speed Dog-Engagement gearbox equipped with a longer total ratio. They have naturally upgraded the breaking system for 350 sport models (from 2000 series) with AP racing 4-bucket device and perforated brake discs with the diameter of 330 mm to match the speed-up.
And in order to commemorate the Formula 1 pilot, who was praised not only for his fairness, with his intensive rivalry to a Frenchman Alain Prost, whom many surely would like to become today, Cam Shaft – Premium Wrapping from Kempen has created a black bolides car design – apart from glued advertisement there is a signature in gold of the unforgettable driver on the king class car, and it is the very model, the legendary John Player Special 97T that Ayrton Senna drove in 1985 in Estoril and for the first time won in Formula 1. That is why this special sport car design along with the start number 12 is associated with the Lotus 97T and especially with Ayrton Senna... We will never forget you!
