Those in Russia will have the first chance to see Taiwan’s first automotive brand at the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2012 (MIAS) held between Aug. 31 and Sept. 9.

The independent Taiwanese automotive brand, known as Luxgen, will presents what it calls “the intelligent model lineup from Taiwan.”

The Luxgen brand was established by the Yulon Group to merge Taiwan’s auto and information technology industries for, as the company states, creating a new generation of forward thinking, environmentally sustainable intelligent vehicles. Through its strategy of “Innovation and Differentiation,” Luxgen says it differentiates itself and best illustrates Taiwan’s R&D strength in the global market.

Taiwan’s IT industry has been highly acknowledged around the world, and Luxgen says it aspires to capitalize on that strength as an automaker and to compete in the automotive markets on global scales.

Suprisingly for a company just starting, Luxgen will be introducing a full product lineup in Moscow, including electric vehicles.

The Luxgen7 SUV EV+ and the Luxgen CEO EV+ are the electric vehicles offered by the company, but no technical details are yet available. The company Web site mentions a “150 kilowatt motor which can provide 201 horsepower and 220 newton-meters torque,” – but it gives no battery and/or range info aside from mentioning lithium ion technology.

The full lineup will be comprised of the Luxgen7 SUV, equipped with a 2.2-liter engine MEFI turbo, five-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive; the Luxgen5 Sedan; and the Luxgen CEO, which the company describes as a “comfortable jet-cabin on the road to emphasize the status of its owner.”

Russia will be the first country to see Luxgen vehicles out of Taiwan. We are looking forward to more details about these vehicles as well.
